1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the United Mineral Network website (unitedmineralnetwork.org) and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. United Mineral Network, Inc. ("UMN") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity organized under the laws of the State of Colorado. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Our Services

UMN provides the following charitable services to private mineral and royalty owners:

• Educational Resources — Comprehensive guides on mineral rights, royalty auditing, inheritance, and state-specific oil and gas law
• Community Forums — Geographically organized discussion forums for mineral owners to connect and share experiences
• Property Activity Reports — Automated geospatial reports showing nearby drilling permits and operator activity
• Permit Alerts — Email notifications about new drilling permits and regulatory deadlines

3. Important Disclaimers

Always consult qualified professionals before making decisions regarding your mineral interests, lease negotiations, royalty disputes, or estate planning.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information when registering
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Not share your account credentials with others

5. Community Forum Guidelines

Our community forums are designed to support mineral owners. By participating, you agree to:

• Be respectful and constructive in all interactions
• Not post predatory lease offers, unsolicited buyout solicitations, or misleading information
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliations
• Not post content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates the rights of others
• Not use the forums for commercial solicitation or spam

UMN uses AI-assisted moderation to help maintain forum quality. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

6. Membership Donations

Sustaining memberships are voluntary charitable contributions to UMN. As required by IRS regulations:

• UMN will provide written quid pro quo disclosure for contributions over $75 where goods or services are provided in return
• The tax-deductible portion of a membership contribution is the amount exceeding the fair market value of benefits received
• One-time donations where no goods or services are provided in return may be fully tax-deductible
• Membership acknowledgment letters are provided annually in January

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. UMN does not store your credit card or bank account information.

7. Property Activity Reports

Activity reports are generated using publicly available data from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pathfinder API and state regulatory databases. While we strive for accuracy, report data may not be complete or current. Reports are provided "as is" and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for any decision. Always verify information independently with relevant state regulatory commissions.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the UMN website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of United Mineral Network, Inc. or its content suppliers and is protected by United States copyright law. Educational content may be shared for personal, non-commercial use with attribution to United Mineral Network. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UMN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of our services. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the total amount of donations you have made to UMN in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
